CURRENT TEAM: AHA 16U AAA

Henry Zhang is a 2010-born American forward from Winterville, North Carolina, currently competing with AHA 16U AAA. A right-shot forward standing 5'10" and weighing 148 pounds, Zhang has continued to advance through increasingly competitive levels of youth hockey while developing his offensive and puck skills.

Elite Prospects identifies Zhang as a Playmaker, Puckhandler, and Speedster, highlighting three important elements of his game: his ability to create opportunities for teammates, handle the puck, and use his skating to generate offense.

Zhang's development began in North Carolina, with the Greenville Jr. Pirates listed as his youth hockey organization.

During the 2023–24 season, Zhang competed with the NC Golden Bears 14U AA, gaining experience in both 14U AA and NAPHL competition.

He took an important offensive step forward during the 2024–25 season with the Raleigh Raptors 14U AA. In 42 games, Zhang recorded:

19 Goals | 11 Assists | 30 Points

His 19 goals demonstrated his ability to finish scoring opportunities while his 11 assists complemented the playmaking element of his game.

For the 2025–26 season, Zhang made a significant move in his development by joining Boston Hockey Academy 15U AAA. The transition from 14U AA hockey in North Carolina to AAA competition in Massachusetts provided Zhang with an opportunity to challenge himself against stronger competition.

He appeared in 37 games with Boston Hockey Academy 15U AAA, recording 1 goal and 6 assists for 7 points. Zhang also competed in the BEAST 15U league, where he added 2 assists in 7 games.

His development and progression earned him another notable opportunity when Zhang was selected for the 2026 USHL Combine.

For the 2026–27 season, Zhang has advanced to the 16U AAA level with AHA 16U AAA, where he wears #53 and competes in both NEFPHL and THF competition.

Zhang's game is built around skating, puck possession, and creating opportunities. His combination of speed and puckhandling can allow him to attack with possession, while his playmaking ability gives him another dimension as an offensive forward.

His hockey path—from North Carolina youth hockey to Boston Hockey Academy and now 16U AAA—shows a player who has continued to seek out stronger competition and new development opportunities.

As Zhang continues to mature physically and further develop his offensive production, strength, skating, and two-way game, his combination of speed, puck skills, and playmaking ability provides a foundation for continued advancement through high-level hockey.
