Tom Walsh has established himself as a respected figure in player development, scouting, and hockey operations across multiple levels of the game. With more than a decade of experience, he has built a reputation for identifying top talent and helping players progress through junior, collegiate, and professional pathways.
Walsh began his career with the Islanders Hockey Club, serving as Head Scout from 2013 to 2016. During that time, he also took on coaching responsibilities as an Assistant Coach for the U16 and U18 teams, developing a hands-on understanding of player growth both on and off the ice.
From 2016 through 2022, Walsh served as Vice President and Part-Owner of the Militia Hockey Club while simultaneously working as a Scout for the Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL). His leadership helped shape the Militia into one of the region’s most recognized developmental programs, emphasizing skill development, character building, and advancement opportunities for players at all levels.
In 2021, Walsh expanded his coaching career by joining Salem State University (NCAA Division III) as an Assistant Coach, a position he continues to hold today. During his tenure, he has contributed to the growth of the program and mentored countless student-athletes pursuing collegiate and professional aspirations.
Previously, he also served as Assistant General Manager for the Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL) and Head Scout for the Corpus Christi Ice Rays (NAHL), where he played an integral role in roster construction, player evaluation, and long-term organizational development.
Today, Tom remains active in the game and looks forward to developing the Lumberjacks into the top spring/summer program on the East Coast!
