Beckham Johnson is a 2012-born American goaltender from Portland, Oregon, currently continuing his development with Northern Cyclones Academy 14U AAA for the 2026–27 season.
Johnson began his hockey journey in the Pacific Northwest, developing within the Portland Jr. Winterhawks organization. As his game progressed, he pursued opportunities to compete at increasingly challenging levels, eventually making the transition from Oregon to elite AAA hockey on the East Coast.
During the 2025–26 season, Johnson played with Elite Hockey Academy 14U AAA, gaining valuable experience competing against talented players and high-level programs. For the 2026–27 season, he joined Northern Cyclones Academy 14U AAA, where he continues to develop his skills and gain experience in a competitive environment.
Playing the goaltending position requires much more than simply stopping the puck. It demands preparation, concentration, positioning, communication, confidence, and the ability to remain composed under pressure. Johnson continues to work on these important areas while developing the technical foundation necessary to progress as a young goaltender.
At 5'4" and 130 lbs, Johnson is still in the early stages of his physical and athletic development. His progression from youth hockey in Oregon to AAA competition on the East Coast provides him with an opportunity to face stronger competition, experience different styles of play, and continue building his overall game.
Johnson's hockey path demonstrates a commitment to development and a willingness to pursue opportunities outside his home region. Relocating across the country to continue playing competitive hockey is a significant step for a young player and provides valuable experience both on and off the ice.
As Johnson continues through the 2026–27 season, the focus remains on consistent development, technical improvement, game experience, and preparing for the next stages of his hockey career.
