Work Experience:
Canon is a Hockey Mental Performance Consultant at Premier Sport Psychology. His journey in sport psychology is fueled by his personal experience and passion for hockey. During the final seasons of his hockey playing career, he worked closely with Dr. Justin Anderson, a relationship that profoundly influenced his life both on and off the ice. This mentorship not only shaped Canon’s approach to the sport but also inspired him to pursue a career in sports psychology following his retirement from playing. Having experienced the highs and lows of a professional athlete firsthand, Canon brings a unique perspective to his work, offering empathy and understanding that resonate deeply with players. His background equips him with the distinctive ability to relate to and guide athletes through their mental and emotional challenges, making him a pivotal part of the team.


Background:
Canon was born and raised in Roseville, Minnesota where he played hockey on the Bantam U16 and U18 prep team and Shattuck-St. Mary’s. Following his career at Shattuck, he played three years of juniors, two years in the USHL for the Chicago Steel and Indiana Ice, along with one season in the BCHL for the Coquitlam Express. Canon then went on to play two seasons at Quinnipiac University and completed his final two seasons at the University of Maine. Upon the completion of Canon’s college career, he played professional hockey for the NHL minor league affiliates of the Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lighting, New Jersey Devils, and Chicago Blackhawks
